Ellen forms band for local and touring performances - May 18, 2010
Noted El Paso musicians: guitarist Armin Harrison, cellist and bassist James David Hamilton, keyboardist Cody Ritchie, drummer Michael Mata, and world percussionist Ricardo Amaya have joined Ellen in forming a band for local as well as national performances. They recently recorded songs for Mid West Flawless Entertainment's EPK for the band, and are currently rehearsing to go into the studio to record what will be the next single and music video, with shooting of the video scheduled to begin next month.
The musicians are well-known and in high-demand musical figures in the area and around the Southwest, with Ritchie and Hamilton perhaps best-known for their roles in local favorite, Fungi Mungle.
The group brings a high-energy vibe to their performances that audience members will appreciate. "We definitely bring a World Ambient Pop/Adult Contemporary presence to the music; at the same time, expect the unexpected."
The group performs a number of the songs from Wilson's first album, Songs of Ascent, plus their own compositions.
"I feel confident that this is the band with whom things will move forward exponentially," says Wilson. "I looked for the right combination of chemistry and artistry. We have it - and the audiences will feel it. and we can't wait to connect to our audiences though our shows."
